Who I am…
Hi there!
My name is Sunny Mae, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified EMDR therapist. I’ve spent my life studying both the science and the story of healing. I’m a therapist, writer, and mother - someone who believes that meaning is not something we find, but something we create through what we’ve survived.
As a trauma-focused clinician and EMDR-certified therapist, I’ve walked beside people reclaiming their sense of safety, worth, and belonging after experiences that fractured those very things. My understanding of healing is both professional and personal. I know what it means to sit in the chair of the therapist - and also in the chair of someone finding their way back from pain.
Through my own experience with Spravato (esketamine) therapy, I’ve come to understand healing as something that happens not only in the mind, but in the body and spirit, too. Spravato has taught me that recovery can involve both science and surrender - the rebuilding of neural pathways alongside the rediscovery of hope.
While I don’t provide Spravato therapy myself, I support clients who are preparing for undergoing treatment. Together, we explore intentions, integrate insights, and help the healing continue beyond the clinic. I approach this work, with reverence - for the courage it takes to heal, and for the ways the brain and heart learn to reconnect over time.
I believe healing is not about erasing what happened - it’s about remembering who we are beneath what we’ve carried. My writing, my practice, and my own journey all orbit that same truth: that wholeness is possible, even after what felt impossible.
Therapy is a unique journey for each person, and I aim to provide a compassionate space where you can be heard, understood, and supported throughout the process. Whether you’re facing a life transition, seeking to manage stress, or wanting to explore deeper personal growth, I am here to help.
If you are ready to begin or have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to working with you!
